Hinooooooooooooooo

Godfests, special REMs, all that good stuff. I got Ace and Tidus in FF (I'll show pics at a later day), got a few random things in Godfests, (like Ganesha, I knew he was going to get an ulti so I held him.. then fed him off right before they revealed his ulti and I cringed... then I saw the ult and laughed because it's so bad).

Anyways, second last roll in PCGF got me a Kagutsuchi (why were things dropping max level? It's nice, but why?). He'll be fantastic on my Minerva team, but now I need to kill something to evolve him. Dark Izanami requires 3 slots (preferably 4), Wangren requires 3 slots (preferably 4). I could actually evolve Dark Izanami with 1 slot, but the probability of that actually happening is so little (I need to have a Dub Amelit or Dub Mythlit and then run Evo Rush and loot 4 specific cards... yeaaaah no). So I only have 3 slots currently, which means I need to get 2 more slots. The only things I don't need (that I'm willing to kill, is a better way to put it) is Skuld and Osiris (oh I rolled Osiris, he's pretty cool since he brings my dragons to 30k HP... except I run rows, not prongs...).

So yeah, I have to take two steps backward to go one step forward with Hino. Funtimes.

I guess I'll just deal with the struggle and kill them right now so I don't have to keep thinking about it. I have a ton of Pii's from everything and almost every card in my box is max skill (everything except Skuld, Osiris and Hino).

Oh, also, the free God I got was Pandora. Yay... Well, time to figure out what to do with the 7 Extreme Metal King Dragons that they're giving us for free.

I'll try to keep posting as often as I can. The game is starting to pick up again (it usually tapers off in between events or during slow ones, like the first part of this event, where all I did was die to Challenge 6 because stupid Light Izanami in no RCV).

Okay I'm sorry

I have a ton of excuses but really I haven't been posting a lot.

I'll list a few of them here. I just finished finals, and am now on break while I sit around watching Netflix and doing nothing. I haven't done much in PAD (except evo FF Ace and Skuld with only 3 slots for evo mats) and there haven't been many fun things to do in PAD. My Athena account is fully awoken and is pretty ridiculously strong, except that my only orb changers are Green Fruit and Kodama.

In the meantime, I'll just gather a lot of pictures and then post a bunch of them.

The past 12 days.

So I started an Athena account and maxed out Knight and Goblin in skill and level. Been getting a ridiculous amount of +eggs because infinite Normal farming.

Meanwhile, I've been getting Amir and leveling him (slowly) on my main. Want to do Hera Rush but I don't have enough recovery on Minerva team. Amir was fun, he blinded me and I killed him with a flick of my finger.

In the last runs of PA, I max skilled Hera-Ur which was great. CatDragon was also great because I got a full red board which let me ADKZ it. And there's a picture of my ridiculously plussed 5 day old Athena account.

Yada yada yada yada. Waiting time for me now. Don't ask what happened to my Athena account stones. Please. Don't.

Just going to wait for FF Collab to see what I can get. Need a red and light healer for Isis. Also another red card for Minerva would be fantastic. Cough, totally want Gadius and Sun Quan, cough.

2 weeks ago, today...

Hello, I would like to try something new today. Instead of talking about myself (too much), I'll talk about something that is on most NA PAD'er's minds. GungHo NA.

Yes, this is brought about by the whole v7.5 and Android 5.1 issue. This is because two weeks ago, today GungHo JP released the update that solved the Android 5.1 compatibility problem. Usually GungHo NA isn't this slow at re-releasing the update to fix the problems and that's why I'm here.

Now, it's not fair to say that "just because JP got it, NA should get it, too" since there are other things inside an update, and US is not near 7.5 in their client. But this post is going to be hitting a few points, such as why JP is superior (no offense, I'm not here to shit on your parade), why it will always be superior, and why other versions can only lag behind.

Okay, so let's start. JP is an event-driven server. There are almost always events in JP (remember that one month where you had back-to-back events in NA? Yeah, that's JP 80% of the time). Right now, we're in a "dead" week, where we're between events. But even with that, we still have a collab (Shinra Bansho + Shinra Bansho v2), a challenge (Yamato Challenge), and a special GungHo School Dungeon (equivalent to a collab, not like GungHo Collab Dungeon). We also have a Murakore, and the Shinra Bansho Egg Machine. And while we may not have the information on the next event, nor when it starts (the Egg Machine is going to rotate on Monday JST [Sunday for NA] and Shinra Bansho will leave, also Murakore ends tomorrow), but this is not what we have to deal with on a weekly basis, like in NA. Obviously, we're ahead and not because we're "the guinea pig" server, because we aren't. When they release updates in JP, they are extremely polished, and some things might need constant tweaking (Orb Enhance Awakenings come to mind), but when NA releases them, they don't even release the fully polished version. NA goes through every single patch that JP gets in exact order (with a special notation for compatibility updates).

The problem right now is that with the current setup NA has got going on, players might be afraid of updating their OS and that is absolutely never acceptable. Even in JP, it's wise to hold off on a new update (I ignore the pop-up every time iTunes tells me to update my iPod, just because the main reason for me having it is for PAD right now) until you get the thumbs up from GungHo. But 2 weeks is ridiculous (actually, 5.1 was officially released 8 days ago, but people have gotten it upwards of a month ago. I have a friend who mains NA and hasn't been able to play for roughly a month and that's unacceptable). And while it is unfair for a player to expect a company to sift through an update to find out a part of the patch they can isolate and ship elsewhere immediately, they've had over 2 weeks and it's been shipped in other regions that are on an extremely similar client.

So why will JP always be superior? This actually happens in many other mobile and non-mobile games. The initial server will always be the best. Why? Because they actually have room to grow and they have most of the data in addition to the, typically, larger playerbase. Examples of this include, but not are not limited to Maplestory, Ragnarok Online, Grand Chase, and nearly any other Free to Play game that has been ported elsewhere. If you've ever played Korean Maplestory, you could easily tell that it's extremely event driven (although in recent times, Global has also become slightly event driven, but it's more paywalled). One could argue that Japan Maplestory has gone and done their own thing (Kanna and Hayato), and so has Global (with the release of Jett, Nebulites?, and some other silly power creep), but they always go back to taking things from Korea, the initial server.

In Puzzle and Dragons, the same thing happens. NA, EU, and KR (am I missing anyone?) are all behind JP (the only exception is HK which is a different client and events but the same server/database. You can actually interchange your data bins between these two servers on iOS). Additionally, the events are always subpar. If you think about JP events like setting the bar for what an event should and could be, all the other servers have to be beneath that bar and can't outdo them. That means that whatever JP gets, everyone else will get less.

So why does everyone else get less, and why do updates come slow? In most mobile gaming companies, the branches of the companies are typically understaffed and underfunded. You'll have a few people working on a game, and it's typically just translations and gatcha/gambling being done. In a perfect world, this is all that has to be done (actually, the gatcha/gambling can be scrapped). If a company could release the same game across all it's servers and have them be the same game with a different client to denote different languages of users, that would be ideal. There are a ton of legal and logistical problems attached to this, but that's why it's a perfect world scenario.

This actually brings me to my next point about why JP will always get more. The reason why NA (and EU and KR and even HK) will never get as many collabs as JP is because of licensing. I don't know exactly what kind of deals are struck, but it usually always involves money and the concept of promoting a game. JP has the largest playerbase and makes the most money out of all the servers (NA's profit is chump change compared to the monstrosity that is PAD JP). Because of this, they're able to do things like rent out the stage of a mall as an event venue every week. Also Max Murai compared to Antonio is... who the heck is Antonio, anyways? Max Murai is a popular icon in JP and he was popular before he started streaming (he made youtube videos of him being silly/himself on PAD).

The simplest way to see if you're remotely able to get a collab is to see if that game is in your country. For example, NA is finally getting PAD Z, so there will most likely be PAD Z Collab (and guess what dungeon has become available in NA recently? PAD Z). NA will probably not get PAD BT Collab, however, since the industry for arcade machines is a dying one in NA. Yeah sure, tell me that you go to your local arcade every week and that Dave and Busters is all over the place. But how profitable are these venues. How profitable are the arcade machines? How much money do the companies make off them (are they able to constantly profit off them, or will they be one time purchases and then milked by the arcade?). PAD BT works because arcades are much, much more popular elsewhere. And while I'd love to have PAD BT, I know I wouldn't want to go around spending a few bucks to play PAD just to level up and progress. I'd want the arcade machine in my house, which is not the point of an arcade machine.

GungHo NA is actually stuck in a mini-catch 22. To get more collabs, they would need more players and more profit. But they won't get more players and more profit unless they get more collabs. How many people do you know would instantly play PAD and spend money if they released the DBZ Collab?

There are very few exceptions to the "lag behind" rule, which is where NA released Batman Collab and Hello Kitty Collab concurrently (did they release Hello Kitty concurrently or am I being crazy). Actually, NA was ahead of JP for Batman specifically since they got Batman v2 before JP.

Okay this is a bit longer than I expected and still didn't go over everything I wanted to go over, but I'll stop for now also because my brain is starting to die and I just want to sit down and watch Netflix. If you got here, thank you very much for reading this. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to post a reply to this and I will attempt to get back to you when I have time.

Slow and [not so?] interesting

No skill-ups on Hera-Ur, but I'm waiting for a skill-up event for the next attempt (0/2 on 2x so far).

Box is clean, and I have 15 stones so I'll be rolling on the school REM even though I can't really use and don't really need anything there (hue).

Also I found a $10 iTunes Gift Card, ran through a few hoops with iTunes Account Security and then bought myself Cytus. That's fun. No images right now because there's not much going on in my box. It's literally wake up, run Pazuschool, wait for stamina, go to school, run Pazuschool, go home, run Pazuschool, procrastinate, sleep, rinse and repeat. Sleep is optional.

Slowwwwwwww

Finished Athena, maxed Mama's recovery, and am working on getting Tech Challenge Stones to roll in Pazuschool. I want to get Athena, but I doubt I will.

Also have a Clair alt on JP. First REM roll other than Clair was... Dark Dragon Swordsman. Woooo~.

THINGS HAPPENED. AND LAZY.

GENERATE IS MAX SKILLED. He also has +1 in HP and RCV. Ew. Oh well. Hera-Ur is 3/3 on Baby Tama's, woot. Ranger got another skill-up (BECAUSE I FINALLY BEAT CHALLENGE DUNGEON 7, HOLY CRAP IS THAT ONE ANNOYING), haven't been farming +eggs, my stones vanished (DON'T ASK WHERE THEY WENT), and Uvo Hera-Ur is at the top of my kill list.

So, that Rainbow Keeper is for Zeus Vulcan when he appears. Otherwise I'm going to feed the Keeper away for experience if I need the slot (and get rid of Hera-Ur, maybe?). Which Hera-Ur? Either and both. I can farm them up again, anyways.

Ranger got a skill-up so now 8 turns. She's actually a pretty strong leader and I can almost consistently activate her (although I haven't really been trying). When I finally went back to playing Gonia, I was making all the matches all over the place.

Challenge 7 was a pain in the butt because... Ra at the beginning is easy and do-able, but then Thoth & Sopdet is just stall for days. Followed immediately by Gold Keeper who I can easily kill with 2 Gonia actives, except I need one for Thoth & Sopdet, so that's fun. Oh, and I also need to heal before killing Gold Keeper because Isis is next and she has a pre-emp. And then I get to stall on Isis for all my skills (15 turns) so I can kill her with Gonia and then do a full board on Medjed, assuming he doesn't make Generate my leader. Otherwise I have to survive for 3 turns and pray that I don't die a horrible death. Yay. Fun. I also spent a lot of stamina yesterday on Diagorodurkljsefmse... Didn't beat it. No stone for Esplen.

On the bright side, that day PAD Z was available for the whole day was great. I spent 2 stones I think on Stamina refreshes, but it was worth it because I maxed Generate so he's an 8 turn orb changer and he's up after one turn.

Also Shinra Bansho collab is next, most likely (because the two leaked new REM's). Time to whore stones and see what's good. Maybe goodbye, Hera-Ur's. Also maybe goodbye Ronia... and maybe Minerva... and maybe Masamune... >.<

1 down, 4 to go.

One Hera-Ur down, one more to go. Snow Globe should be done tomorrow. Then there's Zeus Vulcan (who I don't really want to get because that's probably going to be 4 stones on Gonia team or just a lot of luck on Sonia team). And then Minerva.

I beat Threedia and went on to do Defoud. Slipped on my final board and healed Defoud to full instead of killing (was also at 1 HP because Shiryu, hah).

Well, time to wait for 99 stamina then I'll beat him. Not even going to try doing Dragon Rush or Mama.

Hera-DUr, Diagororordjalfejskalfealdos, and stuffs.

Beat Hera-Ur again after entering right before the day was over (yay for 3 hours of sleep, I didn't even wake up to my alarm. I woke up to my brother's).

And yes, I can actually evolve both Hera-Ur's, the Snow Globe (hopefully max it) and then get Zeus Vulcan and evo him, then I can work on AMinerva and Hera-DUr.

With that, my Minerva/Ranger team (depending on what LS I need, never Ronia) will be "done" although I still need a final sub (for now, I use Zweihander because attacker and high atk + double prong).

The Snow Globe is Dark, not that it matters. Going to feed it to Ranger which will get her to level 97 or 98 (and then ~100k to max). Unless I get a Super or Great.

All I need to do now is to get a Dub Mythlit before Wednesday Dungeon and I can evolve Hera-Ur (although I also need to max level her, blegh that's almost 800k exp still left to go).

So my week is going to feel weird because I need to max level Hera-Ur before Wednesday Dungeon, get a Dub Mythlit (also before Wednesday Dungeon) and then I get to run Thursday Dungeon to evolve the Snow Globe (who only gets 2 slots to hold mats from Thursday dungeon, so I have to get a lot from the actual dungeon even though it's not 2x Drop, yay).

All the while I have to resist from running 3D and D4 for the Jewels (that I totally need, right?).

BUT I BEAT DIAGORIRORIEJNLGSJEKGDOS. He's so annoying because shenanigans, but I went in with Mama (took me 3 tries to get past Floor 1 and 2, ouch) and then I just started spiking everything. I had to use 1915 early on to prevent myself from dying which made me have to use Sun Quan on the second last floor. I actually almost died there, as well, but he didn't do a killing strike, thankfully. Then I went to the final floor, used Mama -> Shiryu (2x damage but 5s extra time, woot) and brought him to <50% (if I didn't get him below 50% I would have died because Shiryu). He cast the 5 combo or more shield (not that it really matters) so I used Mama again (which overrode Shiryu, oops) and then spiked him and won. With mama, it's really just getting to him that's the problem. With Gonia it's the second last floor that's problematic.

Am dumb, am suck.

I realized that I can actually evolve Hera Ur with only 3 slots open, so I plan on getting a second Hera Ur for the DUr evolution. Of course, today is Hera Ur and I failed many, many times (because I suck).

Thankfully, I beat her once, which is nice. If I can get the second one it'd be really nice, but I can just hope for one when getting Zeus Vulcan.

I got my White Day Present Egg, but there's not much I can feed it to. I'm going to probably feed it to Ranger, which will make her 300k from max (unless I get a Great or Super).

I rolled twice on Godfest. I rolled on the wrong one first (whoops) and got a Leviathan (ouch). Rolled during the appropriate Godfest and got a Green Odin. Fed him away even though he can be useful on Mama team.

I wasn't supposed to roll twice, but... oh well.

Double Evo, PAD W, Spring Cleaning, Combo Practice

Was busy figuring out how to get Mythlits after the Silver Egg Machine decided to gift me with nearly every material necessary for Sun Quan evolution. Proceeded to run T1 until I got a Mythlit last night/this morning. I was then contemplating Ranger evolution and, luckily, got some materials for that as well, so I was running T6 and Keeper of Red today to get those materials (while also feeding a Snow Globe from the challenge dungeon to max level Sun Quan because 3m experience). Got all the materials for Ranger and was going to hold off on the evolution until after I beat Challenge Dungeon 6, except I realized that by feeding Tamadra's, I'd get the stats back from evolving. I went ahead with that evolution, managed to max level the Snow Globe (got a Great, yay for wasting experience), and am now waiting on the stamina to beat Challenge 6 with Mama.

While doing Technicals, I was practicing my 10 combos (although I did use Mama to get some nice orb time). Almost at the point I used to be before I had Row Enhances, but not quite there. I need to be a bit swifter. Still using my thumb and need to either use index finger or my stylus (which I should practice before entering Challenge 6).

I ran some PAD W just for fun and also for the stone (didn't know it until after I started). I actually screwed up and "paused" here because it wasn't in Colorblind mode. Apparently there's no pausing, so I died because the timer was very, very, very short. After I got some more Hearts, I ran it again and had Orb Changers ready (which apparently pause the timer). I was also able to actually see the darned orbs.

Oh well, that's all for now. Just wanted to get an update in because I did do a big cleaning by evolving. To evolve Minerva, I will be getting both Zeus Vulcan and Hera Ur at the same time (now that I have the space). I will probably need to stone to finish the dungeon, but I'm slightly okay with that. I have a Light Jewel so far and Ranger will be getting UVO'ed before the weekend if all goes according to plan. I will run Kapybara for the stone during an increased invade rate so I can get some attempts at skill-ups. I will not be doing any challenges harder than 6 (usually I skip 6 and do 7 but this time I can't do 7). After that it's just level level level my stuff and then wait for something new to come out and fawn over.

Was out, am in.

Sorry, my school bought me a ticket for an event so I was out for the past few days networking and getting free loot. I'll update in a bit once I get my bearings. I didn't take many images, because I was mostly farming CD Collab (good experience, as long as I don't fail).

Awoken Minerva

Well, I evolved Minerva once, because thankfully today was Super Rubies. The only problem is I forgot that she requires Zeus Vulcan and Hera-Ur evolved (I knew she required them).

This changes everything, meaning I have to change my plan and can't take my evolutions at my own pace. If I can get a Hera-Ur and evolve her, then Zeus Vulcan will take the next slot and I can do a 3-slot evolution with him. The only thing I was considering was maybe if I do Zeus Vulcan first, I could potentially loot a Hera-Ur at the same time, but I can't do a 3 slot evolution without wasting too much stamina because it's too risky.

That means instead of evolving Ranger now, I should focus on Kushinada, because I can evolve Ranger while I have Hera-Ur and am waiting on Zeus. Also, I'll probably need to stone Zeus Vulcan.

If I wait too long, I'll probably just evolve Ranger twice.

As for beating Zeus Vulcan, I'm not sure if I want to beat it with Ranger or Mama lead (did I already say that?).

Godfest is over

I said I wouldn't roll anymore, but I caved. Thankfully it wasn't Crystal Defenders (unless I would have gotten Thief, then darnit...), and I did get something I sort of wanted.
Oh well, now I can improve my Mama team (if you check my PadHerder teams, it will be the second test team.) Awoken Minerva is useful for Dragon and helps prevent orb troll on a low cooldown (but does require Film/Frame/1915 to bring back Dark Orbs, so Ranger still has a good shot if things are on cooldown). Kushinadahime over Shiryu because a stall is probably better than a self nuke (especially since I'm mostly only using Mama on No RCV dungeons).
Now to just evolve everything, Zeus Vulcan will probably require a stone, unless I get super lucky or improve my Mama skills. (That sounds really weird and wrong.)

I'm kind of scared now because everything is getting an Awoken Evolution and that means that things may become extremely useful or they can just become bad for my account. It's sort of a gamble of all the things, seeing what will become relevant and what will fade away, so I'll focus on gathering stones for collabs and godfests that actually help me (although the only cards I need now are Blue, being Sun Quan, Kurapika, or Orochi). If I get Sun Quan, then I could remove Kushi and maybe slot in Indra or something (totally not ripping off the dream Mama team).

As it stands, if I ever get Dark Kali, she's instantly taking the slot of Minerva/Ranger, although I doubt I'll roll for a while (please, Shinra Bansho, don't have a REM... or all of the cards be Dragons).

I would like to say that clearing the Devil Challenge was not fun, and I have been abusing the Best Friend System in conjunction with Reward Dungeons to get 1000+ Pal Points for 100pts/stam. I still haven't done Mephistopheles nor the final stage, but pfffff who needs to do that.

I might work on a farmable Red team to build off of either Ranger leader or Minerva leader. It'll be just for funsies, and it could be Devil (TOTALLY NOT A RONIA TEAM), so Hera D-Ur is a possibility.

Back in business

It's been too long since I've made a post and I'm done with blog.com and them not letting me log on.

Anyways, it's been a long time and here's my box. I really wanted Ranger, Thief, and Juggler from the Crystal Defender collab, and after 5 or so rolls I only got Ranger (the gold I got was a Puppetmaster).

I did a single roll of the Godfest, because Dark Kali was featured. I got Kushi, who can still fit on Mama team, even though she's not a Dragon. Ranger fits well on that team because I need a red (Generate and Ronia aren't very good choices) and the orb change is the only good kind, random.

Now I just need to evolve and max level my remaining cards. Thankfully, Chocobo is no longer Protected, so I could get one, but the only nice evolution is Blue and even then I'm not sure if I even want Chocobo. I'm definitely not keeping Moogle.

Current direction of the box is to simply wait for the next collabs. I want to get Asmodeus and Dark Saiga from Shinra Bansho, and I'm interested in seeing what happens with the Final Fantasy (not Crystal Defender) collab. Too bad, I'm not too big on that, so I'm not going to blow my stones unless there are some good cards/dragons. Maybe something new will happen in Capybara (Kapibara on NA), but I'm not sure anything new will happen other than PAD W.

I finally beat Sandalphone descended (again). I really don't like that dungeon, because it's annoying and hard. I don't even want to bother trying Wadatsumi and Hera Beorc, although I can probably beat Wadatsumi now that I have made most of the health thresholds.

I've attempted Diagororordejrlajre... Diagorudos multiple times, yet I've gotten orb trolled (Mama, 3/3 times on floor 1, not enough orbs available), cheesed, skyfalled, and just outright killed (Shiryu x Monster Hunter Guy). I don't want none of that.

I want to attempt the Devil Rush (both part of the Descended No Stone Challenge and the Devil Challenge about to occur), but there's a few problems with me doing so, so I'll just skip that and keep stockpiling Jewels for now.

So I might start stockpiling stones doing Challenge Mode on Technical Dungeons and clearing the final few Normal Dungeons (bar Seaway, probably).

No, I won't get Zeus&Hera. No, I won't bother evolving them. Yes, I know Ronia and Bonia are useless in my box. No, I won't run Ronia.
